Hi,

All,

What frequency i could boast to get the hard hitting bass, that set off car alarms and shake roofs from a distance.

Thanks

That's the kind of guy, cops are cracking down on dude. LOL

Yes, I know exactly how to accomplish this. However, I will NOT offer that knowledge at CK.

Sorry to dissappoint ya,

Swez,

I know what yuh mean, that kinda info is dangerous, I just wanted to prove a point with one of my friends, but i have an idea what frequency i could use, I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks you guys for all the info you have shared, here in my country there is hardly any real car audio installer, most of them are just car electrician. many of my friend wonder how I got one 12" pioneer to play like that.

Thanks

What country are you from...???

I'll give you one hint d_bass.... it's the enclosure design, frequency tuning parameters and the ability to funnel that bass energy out of the vehicle in a very efficient manner.

Here, we look for long-throw, horn loaded enclosure designs that are commonly used in live sound reinforcement system. The sub enclosure makes a given sub very efficient, (like 105 dB @ 1 watt) and the sub used, must have plenty of RMS power handling and a larger surface cone area like a 15" or even 18" sub. Basically, a focused beam of low frequencies will do as you mentioned.

That's all I care to say on the matter and you'll have to research the rest... but not here OK?

Yeah thanks a ton Cyber.... Dave Where did you get that efficiency number from...?????? please ... lets talk sense rather than putting out wild figures...Give the guy some real info on horn loaded enclosures, Basics, Pro's Con's , design and fabrication tips. that would be much more useful.

I understand what u meant to say by putting out that efficiency number, but not every one would understand that........

It's a very simple formula Victor and yet can be made very complex to those who wish to do so.

As you well know, Action Audio, (the company I tech for) has doen a lot of Pro Sound reinforcement enclosures. Many are ported or horn loaded, depending on the application.

Also, we generally use very high efficiency woofers in many cases. Most of these woofers are made for Pro use and 8 ohm units. (1w/1m = 2.83 volts @ 1 meter free air and typically in the mid 90's efficiencies of higher.

Now couple that with enclosure efficiencies of +6dB or more and we are looking at +100 dB @ 1 watt. If you wish to look at some of the large format, horn loaded products we have installed, here's a link to Community Light & Sound:

The specs on each product a in the main page too. Just click and look.
