Has anybody ever used Aura Bass Shakers in their house or car? I was checking them out on the web, they sound pretty sweet. Anybody got some input for me? THINK Replies (6) swez on 10/19/2006 21:02:30 They have been mentioned here, now and again. Interesting gimmick for low powered HT sub systems. However, not all that practical in mobile audio apps. Have seen them very cheap off e-bay at times. Do they work well? I dunno.... never saw a need for them. swez ttocs on 10/20/2006 18:06:40 parts express has been showing them pretty cheaply. just can't justify another amp on my electrical system to get more feeling. ShootuhMcBustaCap on 10/24/2006 16:22:52 I plan on using them in the crib, with 2 8," 2 10" and 1 12," actuall tone is not a problem,I just want more impact. They would be pretty sweet in the ride, maybe running off the head unit may be the answer, since they make no actual sound, weakpower and clipping shouldn't matter. It's not like they need 100's of watts to run. I'm probably going to check them out, I'll let you guys knowif they cool. cplkittle on 11/8/2006 03:43:11 I have one, but have never used it in either home or auto. It is about 6" in diameter and I believe it was only 40-60 watt RMS. It dosen't do much, however a larger model may yield better results. I have found that if you can make good solid contact between your sub enclosure and the floor itself, you can dramatically increase the bass effects in your home. My old apartment had wood floors in the living room, and I screwed my 12" sub box to the floor. this made a huge difference by transferring the vibrations directly to the floor that are normally absorbed by carpet, rubber feet, or any other insulating material. ttocs on 11/8/2006 23:43:08 parts express has them for $39........ MrBrownstone on 11/8/2006 23:52:09 Basically, they vibrate the seat..giving you the impact of a much stronger sub without the actual sound power. For a post factory system, they are great. I wouldn't waste the money if you are putting a 1kW system together though. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
