Alpine Type R

Im Looking at a second hand , old Alpine type R 12" 4ohm SVC 300w RMS sub. Its on an auction site.

Whats everyones opinion on the type R, as i have no idea myself. It has a low reserve, it might go for a good price.

You can never go wrong with Alpine (very good brand). Just a matter of matching your sub, amp and enclosure.

Agreed!!! Alpine's SWR subs are an excellent choice for the bass engine. The newer versions now come in 2+2 or 4+4 DVC's and can handle 500 RMS/ea.

I believe the very early models only came in 4 ohm SVC's or 4+4 DVC's and only rated at 300 watts RMS. These are roughly pre-2003 model years.

In the US, this sub can be had off the net for well under $150.00 USD. (N.I.B.) For a gently used one, $80.00 USD is a fair price. If this is an older model, maybe $50.00 USD is a good price.
