This kinda goes together with the last thread i listed.

I am installing 2 hifonics amps and when i have both of them wired in they come on and go off. When i unwire one of them from the remote wire (either one) then the one that is still wired up plays. I was told to install a relay because i had a voltage drop or something like that on my remote wire side. Anyways i have no idea and have been at this all weekend.. thx

You have 2 possible options here:

1. You HU cannot supply adequate REM voltage to keep both amps going

2. The amps are starving for power off the main power line and are shutting off

If the REM is not sufficient, you can either use a relay circuit as the amp REM trigger or tap into the HU's ACC/IGN line. Use an inline fuse in either case. A 1A inline fuse is recommended.

Relays are a little tricky if not used to using them. If you want a long tuitorial, read this:

Short form diagram:

The other issue may have more to do with adequate power from the ALT/BAT and power line to feed both amps adequately. If the power supply, (ALT/BAT) are not giving adequate voltage supply to both or either amps, they will shut down and protect themselves.

Also, having a good transfer wire, (main power cable) to feed both amps properly, are essential. Can get into that deeper with you, after we know what amps are used and wire gage of your main power line.

you can also test this theory by hooking both amps up, and now switch the remote wire behind the radio so it is wired to the +12v switched(red) wire. The amps should then turn on and off with the key.
