Hello, I want to add a 2 channel ampt to my factory head unit. This is in a 1998 Cadillac Eldoroda, with non-Bose set-up. I know how to use a line level to RCA converter, but I am not sure how to get a asignal to turn the amp on. My factory service guide tells me the factory head unit uses class II signals, really not sure what this means. Any help is appreciated.

if it's non bose, the accessory wire behind the radio can be used as a remote wire. it will be yellow.
get a meter / test light to verify because there may be a couple yellow wires. it will be 12V with the car on, and 0V with the car off.
make sure you fuse it.

be carefull as there is a yellow speaker wire as well.
