Hello, i recenty bought a Kicker Solo X 12" subwoofer and am now in the search for a box. I'm thinking of building my own but will need a few tips and suggested materials to use if i do build it. Any suggestions? Replies (2) swez on 09/27/2006 20:16:52 The Kicker Website and install manual have good details on enclosure options for this sub. It lists 3 ported enclosures, depending on your application. Have a look: http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-support/manuals/manuals/04SoloX%2010%20and%2012.pdf The Tuner is the smallest, but nets good low bass response. The SUV is also a good option if you want deep lows and have the cargo space for a very large box. This one will definitely tump your windows, doors and hinges. The SPL is just that... loud and very limited in usable bass range. Note the tuning frequency is very high... 68 Hz. All bass below 60 Hz., needed to be blocked with infrasonic filtering to protect this woofer at high SPL levels. As a daily driver that sounds clean, full and goes low, the Tuner makes a lot of sense. However, if you want more low end bump, go SUV.
