I have 2 12in. L7's . i need help finding a box to go under the back seat of my 99' chevy ext. cab. plz respond Replies (6) swez on 08/27/2006 08:12:00 This is not going to be an easy task. The L7 12" is almost 7 inches deep alone. The minimum airspace per sub is 0.88 ft^3. (cubic feet) That will not give much low, deep bass either, until you get closer to about 1.5 ft^3 per sub. May I suggest you look for a custom box maker in your area to do this one. Depending on the actual space you have under the seats now, it may mean a well designed down-firing wedge box and the rear seat height may have to be raised to accomodate the height mins. In this truck, you would find a single L7 to perform very well in a ported enclosure of 2.75 -3.0 ft^3, tuned to about 36 Hz. This would require a very skilled designer/fabricator as well. Swez massbass60 on 08/27/2006 12:14:55 I was wondering if it would be any easier to try finding a front firing box swez on 08/27/2006 20:28:01 Yes, here's a great box from a solid fabricator. Note the size of this enclosure. 13 1/2" h X 18" d X 34" w Have a look: http://www.subzoneusa.com/12_hshd_series.htm This box is best used in the up firing orientation. It's 18" High x 13.5" Deep x 34" Wide. That pretty much means the rear seats have to be in the up (stored) position and rendered pretty much as extra weight. How do you think it would do. http://caraudiofactory.com/19881998-kicker-p-192.html http://caraudiofactory.com/992006-chevy-extended-kicker-p-48.html I can get this one for 12's instead of 10's swez on 08/28/2006 14:07:15 This one is your best bet. The other one is too small. (poor low bass response) http://caraudiofactory.com/19881998-kicker-p-192.html Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
