Hey i am building my first system and not sure the best method of wireing my clarion mono block amp to 2 clarion 12' subs. My amp has 2 outputs for sub wire though i have been told to run it off one wire. Whats going to give me my best boom. Thanks Nathan Replies (4) ttocs on 08/8/2006 00:48:38 we need to know the model of the subs, or the number of voice coils and impedence(ohms) if the coils as well as the name of the pitcher of the 1964 world series game 3 winner.... philbert on 08/8/2006 00:59:05 I`m not sure of the model of subs as they came in box already and am assumeing there 1 voice coil only. the amp is clarion APX 1300 1-channel x 300 watts into 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz @ < 0.1%THD 1-channel x 400 watts into 2 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz @ < 0.1%THD I beleve It was Bouton philbert on 08/8/2006 01:13:36 My bad Bouton was the yankies pitcher. Barney Schultz pitched the winning pitch swez on 08/8/2006 17:28:56 Need to know what subs are in that box before we can safely direct you on the best way to hook up the amp mentioned. Also, when was the last time the "Detroit Lions" (The Lame Kittens) had a winning season? In all my years in Detroit, I cannot recall them having won a Divisional Playoff, the World Series, The Stanley Cup, nn Emmy award or a Pulitzer Prize let alone a Pooper Bowl. Best guess, it was back in the mid/late 40's? (Nope, I was wrong... they'll win the Super Bowl when it's 50 degree below ZERO and Hell hath frozen over completely) Ehemmm, Hell is a small town in Michigan, about 50 miles northwest of Detroit... OK, back to your dilema... If they (subs) are a few years old and only have one voice coil per sub, chances are good they are 4 ohm subs. These can be wired in parallel for a net 2 ohms and safe for your amp. Here, the subs can be wired together, inside the box, (Parallel) and you only need 1 set of wires from the box, to one pair of amp output terminals. If these subs have dual voice coils, (Which I doubt) then we have to look at the specific model number of the subs in that box. Yes, that means you'll have to remove one sub to have a good look. FYI: Here's a link to parallel wired SVC subs. http://img42.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2svcparallel9mf.jpg Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
