Haven't seen many updates on the bass song list and for a person like myself that dosen't listen to much rap, I need help finding good demo CDs. It is hard to show off a system with the new Rob Zombie or the new Tool CDs. One other quick question.. Has anyone noticed that some of the more popular rap songs (XM top 20) have dirty sounding bass lines? Just wondering if I need to adjust my equiptment or if it is in the recording. These circuits are commonly used in FM/AM broadcasts to manage bandwidth of the carrier/audio signals. They need to be compressed and converted from Analog to a Digital signal at the server station. They are then re-converted to analog within the receiver to obtain original broadcast quality. If the circuits are not of high quality, we get over/under lapping during D/A conversions in the deep lows and upper highs. This often leads to muddy or boomy lows (poor definition) and altered highs as well. I don't know the specifics on High Def or XM broadcasting techniques and regulations. But, I have listened to some XM stuff and thought it well inferior to true CD quality audio. Just my 2 cents, Swez emoboywyl on 07/23/2006 01:01:52 I just put together a CD last night that I made a dozen or so copies of so that we can have them at the shop to test systems with and make adjustments. I've found that the best thing you can do to show off your system is to put a lot of variety on the CD and show how well balanced it is. Here's what I have on it, but since I listen to about... ummm... no rap at all, I don't really have any on it. Most customers have rap cd's and so do a couple of the other employee's. 1. Tool - Vicarious (Seriously, nice bass lines, creamy beautiful vocals. Maynard is a genius) 2. Deftones - Passenger 3. Eminem - Mockingbird (dood, it's the ONLY rap song I have in 60gigs of music on my hard drive... my wife liked it) 4. The Nightmare before Christmas - Sally's Song (Really sharp highs, no bass. So you can listen to how your mids and highs sound without the bass, make sure everything is perfect) 5. Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space (Techno, good song tho) 6. Arrakis - The Spice (Techno again, has samples from the original Dune movie... really cool) 7. Dj Alligator Project - Lollipop (This is for the guys in the back... you'll have to listen to it to figure out why) ... just my 2 cents. To me they offer some the cleanest midbass through guitar along with nice drums. Nothing beats the sound of live instruments! Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
