play the song you would like a bit below half volume. You do not want to turn it up/louder, or esle you will damage the sub. Just listen on low for a 1 car ride...then when you need to drive again put it a bit higher.

Many sub makers suggest different ways to "break in" a sub. The most efficient way is to run the sub "free air" (no enclosure) and run either test tones that can be cycled every 30 seconds or so... (40, 60, 80 Hz.) or play some CD's that have lots of deep bass in them for a few hours at 30-60% of full RMS power for a few hours.

If you have the sub installed in a box, you can still get good "break in" results by playing heavy bass track music too. This just takes longer to do. (8-12 hours of music at 30, 50 and 75% RMS power ratings of the sub)

Just installing the sub and playing your music will eventually break the sub in. You'll notice the low bass getting fuller and deeper with time this way. It won't damage the sub as long as you don't push the sub too hard, for the first 8-12 hours of use. (30-50% max RMS power)

One fast way is to wait until late night. Then, while everyone is sleeping. Sneak into the car. Then take the box out and hide it for a few days. Now sell it to yourself for da "lo-lo" and reinstall it!

Bammmm! It has officially been broken into. GRIN

Sorry! I couldn't resist. Today is saturday and I had to work. So I had to relieve some stress. Oh, and by the way, please don't make the mistake and call the cops on yourself!

Too funny there Ash! (Snicker, chuckle, LOL)

I like that option over having the local "crack-head's" getting your gear and selling it for da "lo-lo" to some other guy.

Funny things going on here of late too... there have been a rash of B&E's in the neighborhood of late. My neighbor's kid has been collecting go-carts, mini-bikes and those expensive mini-choppers the past year or two. The garage was full of them.

Well, one night the garage was broken into and he lost most of those stupid noise makers. (Couple $$$ Grand worth) Honestly, I feel bad for the kid and all. However, the upside of all this...it sure has been quieter here of late.

No more "Rennnnnngggg, Vroommmmm or Ying-ginggg-gingggin' " between the houses anymore. Awwwww bummer man! And no, I did not pay anyone to nab his gear either. I think some of the older "Senile Citizens" all chipped in and hired a few "crack-heads" to do the work for them.

That's what I call neighborhood solidarity!!! The voice of the people have spoken... "Enough already" !!!! There are some pretty smart ol' birds in this here neighborhood. I am learning to like em too!
