hi a young friend and i are trying to install an old pioneer super tuner keh-2250QR cassette player into my toyota corolla. we thought it would be as simple as joining the same colour wires together. however we found that the wires on the cassette player did not match the wires from the car. these are the wires we have on the cassette player. 3 greens 1 is totally green, 1 with a black stripe the other with a red stripe, 3 greys, 1 with a red stripe one with a black stripe ans the other totally grey, 2 reds which both connect into a little black bocks and comes out the other side as one wire the other side with a conection saying 6A, a blue one with a connection on the end sayin .5 A and finally 2 black wires. the wires coming from the car are grouped into 2 lots, the 1st lot is made up of 4 2 grey one with a black stripe and 2 white one with a black stripe. the 2nd group has 2 yellow one with a white stripe, 2 blue ones, one with a white stripe, 2 green one with a red stripe, one white with a black stripe finally we have a connection with 4 wires, 2 purple 1 with a white stripe and 2 light green one with a white stripe. The solid green is the right front(+) and the grn/red(+) is for the rear. You will take both negative speakers wires from the cars wiring and tie them both together to the grn/blk. The grey wires are the same for the left side. The blue is your remote turn on, this will go to the pwr antenna or an amp, if you have neither then be sure to insulate this wire to prevent it from shorting. As for the vehicle wiring you will need to test to find out which wire goes where. First by using a test light or voltmeter you need to check for power on each wire. You will need to test each wire with the key off, with the key on, and then with the headlights on. One wire should show +12v with the key off(+12v constant goes to the orange on the pioneer), one will show +12v with the key on(this will go to the decks red wire), and one will show +8-12v with the lights on(you will not use this wires but will need to insulate it to keep from blowing your dash lights fuse). After you have done this take a AA battery and put one of the remaining wires on one side of the batt, and any other remaining wire to the other. If you have the wires that go to a speaker that speaker will make a small popping noise. If you get no sound then replace one of the wires with the any other remaining wire, countinue this untill all of your speakers have made noise. any other ?'s Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
