hey guys , can a sub blow out but still play ,? i have a sub that plays , but if i put too much bas on it , it fans not a clean base but fans , the local audio store guy said that , it could be blown ? Replies (5) swez on 07/17/2006 21:00:17 Sounds like a very damaged sub. If it's not clean, pure bass, somethings wrong with some aspect of the sub. Look for separated joints at: 1. Surround to cone attach 2. Cone to voice coil attach 3. Spider suspension has come apart 4. Loose dust cap 5. Tears in cone or surround Swez dasss on 07/18/2006 23:01:48 thanks ,,,, none of that i think its done ... dont get me wrong this is another sub not any of the O2 that i have thanks man Ash on 07/19/2006 21:24:15 That sounds like a sub which has been over excursed. Once you send the coil crashing into the back plate, you won't usually hear it again until at high volumes. Very common on high tuned ported boxes without subsonic filters. The only cure is to have it replaced or or a new voice coil installed. dasss on 07/22/2006 17:43:41 hey ash .... does that pc florida ..stands for polk county fl ? i am in fl for a while and i can do with some help on that sub / Ash on 07/22/2006 18:01:56 Nah. I'm located in Panama City. Polk is much farther south, but I'm willing to bet you should be able to find some decent deals down there as there are more shops to choose from. That's why I mostly buy from the internet. Most of the local shops here have a limited stock or are higher than what I would settle for. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
