I just tried to have a Sony CDX-GT300 installed in place of my factory radio on my Mazda Tribute (2002). I had the factory-installed premium sound system with a 6-disc changer and a passive subwoofer in the rear (6 other speakers as well). I was also trying to add XM radio to this setup. Everything worked fine except they could not get the subwoofer to work with the Sony radio wiring harness. I had to go back to my factory unit for now. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this so that this radio will work with all of my factory speakers including the subwoofer? Thanks.

Not sure about the passive sub. I would think there is a separate stock amp hidden somewhere in the vehicle running the sub. That would have to be traced down to see where the input feeds from. Have you tried contacting crutchfield? Usually they can help with info like that.
