Web links would help too. These products? http://www.o2audio.com/Amplifiers.html Not familiar with the O2 brand products and some research on them would be needed to say if they really get the job done or not. With links and more product info on them, I may be able to help you out. Swez dasss on 07/17/2006 18:17:21 thanks man , yes that is the site , i have the OAD 2200 .1 sub amp http://www.o2audio.com/Amplifiers.html ( at the bottom of the page .) amd a smaller amp for my door speakers OA 540 .2 ( top of page) also i have 2 of the subs OWP 10 .4 http://www.o2audio.com/Woofers.html (also at bottom of page ) and i have 4 door speakers 5/7 & 6.5 OS 573 & Os163 http://www.o2audio.com/Speakers.html and the head unit is a jvc kdg 420 http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/JVC-In-Dash-CD-player-KDG420-/sem/rpsm/oid/140833/catOid/-13089/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do and a pyrimid eq http://www.pyramidcaraudio.com/itempage.asp?model=705CD thanks guys dkh on 07/17/2006 20:51:09 This gear looks interesting to me. Though its not a mainstream supplier it looks like it might be of a decent quality and worth installing. You should consider contacting the manufacturer and offerring your car as a once in a blue moon demo car for them, and if they are interested then get them to install everything for free and return the commision you paid on the gear. One question though, how do you plan on running multiple speakers for your fronts and rears off that two channel 540 amp? swez on 07/17/2006 20:55:55 Sorry bud, am not familiar with this one at all. I can't put my blessing on this one with good conscience. The specs on all items have a few key pieces missing and the ones noted, not sure they can verify them unless someone handed out a demo set and let a qualified tech test them. Have looked at low end or off brand gear before and see the same general criteria... great claims, but no evidence to back up these claims. Looks like an import from somewhere in Asia. (Ie: Distibution location, wording on details and specs etc.) Looked at some of the speakers too. There are no RMS ratings noted. (Only max power) They also note piezo tweeters used on all Coaxials and a decent looking Silk dome tweeter/crossover network. Whenever I see Piezo tweeters... that spells C.H.E.A.P. and squawking gear to me. Swez dkh on 07/17/2006 20:58:27 Well I thought the amps looked cool but i am easily impressed by color etc. When it looks real good then you have to ask yourself, what are they compensating for here? swez on 07/17/2006 21:09:34 Looks? What does that have to do with performance, values and reliability??? Yeah... not too bad a job in that department. However, there's a good reason why an old wise man once said: "Don't judge a book by it's cover". Some of my favorite books look pretty shabby now. Why? Because I read them a lot and wore out the binders and covers. You should see my 1st Bible... it looks like it's been in several wars by now. But, the contents and personal notes in the margins, make it almost priceless to me now. SMILE Swez dasss on 07/18/2006 10:58:29 thanks guys , for your help i kinda had a feeling that this brand was not a good idea , but u live and learn , right , dkh , i might just do that ,, about the speakers ,i might just put the 2 front speakers on one ch, and the 2 rear on the other ......hope its a good idea .. wish me luck swez on 07/18/2006 11:26:00 If you already have the gear in hand, you have 3 options: 1. Do not open the boxes and try to sell them as NIB off e-bay or to another 2. Return the gear and get your money back 3. Try the gear out and give us some feedback on what you think about the results Who knows, these may turn out to be a nice, low budget system that will be useful to some users. Then again, they may prove unsuitable and not to be recommended. FYI: Installation techniques are a big part of the success or failure we often see here at CK. Some do a poor job installing great gear and have to mop up and start over. Others have used budget brands, knew what they were doing and noted very good results. In this case, only one way to find out.... do your best work, ask for help as needed and note the results as you go. I did not see much technical data on most of the items to say they are great, good or marginal products. Hopefully, the manuals that came with these products, offer much more detail for the best install and setup processes needed for this gear. Good luck and keep us posted to your findings, Swez PS That 2 channel amp should power your front speakers. The rear speakers can be powered off the HU amps. The subs are powered off the sub amp noted. Start with that plan and use #2 gage wire from the BAT, back to a Distibution block. Then, split your wires at the D-Block so the 2 channel amp gets a #4 - #8 gage power and ground wire. The sub amp needs #4 power and ground. That should give both amps adequate power. Question??? What are the recommended fuse ratings for each of these amps? Swez dasss on 07/18/2006 17:45:19 thanks guys , the recommended , fuse amp for the large amp is 100 A and the small is 60 A , i am almost there whit the instaliation ............swez r u sure about the front and rear speakers ? i thought i could put all 4 speakers on the small 2 ch amp but if u say so then i will try it ...... again thanks dasss on 07/18/2006 17:48:08 o another thing , i dont think these r low budget stuff .. i dish out $ 200 each for the subs $ 400 for the sub amp and $ 200 for the small amp and $ 150 for the 4 door speakers , yea i think i got rob too ...... but as i said before i got bad advise ...i live and learn swez on 07/18/2006 19:05:35 If you want to amp the front and rear channels off that 2 channel amp, it can be done. You will not have fade control (front/rear balancing) this way, but if the rear speakers are overpowering the fronts this way, a few mods can balance things out. The prices noted are certainly in line with good quality gear and well known brands. There's only one way to find out if they are worth their salt... install them, tweak them and then give it some time to break in your subs. Other than that, do the best install work you can. BTW, noted the powered EQ from Pyramid too. What will that be used for? I see it has an amp system in it. Question is, how clean and quiet it might be and which speakers will benefit most from using it??? Comments? Swez PS Am not saying you got robbed or taken for a ride here dasss. However, the published specs leave one to wonder what is really available from these products. The weakest link noted, were the full range Non-Component speakers. Only your ears can tell if they are worth the cost or not. As for the fused values on each amp, that is in the game with strong performance power from both the sub and 2 channel amp. dasss on 07/18/2006 20:26:40 thanks guys , i have been workin in the system today and from the little i know is sound ok , but not excelent i guess it needs some fine tuning , ....the eq is only controling the door speakers , but it has a draw back , its killing the sound more than helping it so i took it out , i am going hu ---- rear out to sub amp to subs ,,,, hu ---- front out to small amp to 4 door speakers ,,,, not bad but not what i expect from the seakers , more subs than voice .......i guess a little tuning will help ..... can i post pic ? swez on 07/19/2006 08:58:06 Sure, some guys use photobucket.com or cardomain.com to post pics and comments. 1. http://photobucket.com/ 2. http://www.cardomain.com/ As for balancing mids/highs to your sub, you can adjust the amp gain on the sub amp to tone that down or if this amp has a remote gain feature, use that. What is your biggest complaint on the front and rear speakers now? Sound quality, volume available from amp or poor balance control between front & rear speakers? Comments? Swez dasss on 07/22/2006 17:48:25 hey swez . i have changed things around and the system sounds a lot better i guess that teh fine tuning helped . everything is ok now , no complains . this is what i expected from .everything . except i am not using the eq .... but guys thanks very much and i will continue to visit and if i can help on this site success dave swez on 07/22/2006 20:26:45 That's good news.
