Hey how are PowerBase subs, and what about a sub called SDat, never heard of either and still trying to make up my mind on what i want so any input is really appreciated.

I've never heard of either. from personal expierence, i bought sutff i did not know about, and it turned out to be an overrated company. Its better to buy stuff that actually cost a good amount of money. Sometimes, getting a pair of 12'' subs for $79 is "too good to be true"

Stick with well know brands as you look for gear. Some careful shopping will net very good prices and no risks of getting "JUNK" that won't deliver or last very long.
If we think about buying gear as an investment, the low price is not the only objective. We also want quality, dependability, reliable and products that deliver what they promised or more than specified. This way, we can enjoy our gear for years and not have to re-buy after mistakes and gambling on off brands.

I have used powerbass/powerbase (same company, they changed their name last year) and installed them, they are a fairly new company and for entry level and mid level speakers, they are actually impressive for their cost.

I agree with cplkittle about the powerbase subs. I havnt personally used them, but I know quite a bit who do and their pleased with the performance and the cost.
I also agree with Swez on doing some in depth shopping when it comes to car audio. There are alot of companies out there that boast their product is high on the totem pole but in reality, they cant back up their claims. Stick with some solid, reputable companies that have good reviews by customers.
