hi. new to the site and still a noob at dual voice coil installation. a friend i know bough a mmats setup when i heard it i had to get that setup . i have been using the setup in my car for 4 months now. and has been working ok. but i kept thinking that it was not hooked up right. like it was not strong enough. i bought a mmats 1500.1 amp 2 12' P2.5 subs and a vented box for the subs. this info i just found out ( dude at the place i bought my setup connected it wrong) i think. each sub has only one voice coil connected to the amp and the other voice coils are not connected. i have been looking at different mfg web sites and they all say that both voice coils need to be connected. should they both be connected? if so do you guys & gals know whats the best way to hook up my subs to my amp is? i try email mmats support but its been 5 days now???? no response. OMG if that guy connected them wrong i should tell my friend to check his connections. also can only connecting one voice coil on a dual voice coil sub damage the sub?. Replies (1) cplkittle on 07/12/2006 17:05:15 it can damage the sub. We need to know a few things, what is the amplifier stable at? 1ohm, 2 ohms, 1/2 ohm? what are the subs? dual 2ohm voice coils, dual 4ohm ? Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
