So I got bored a couple of weeks ago and decided to turn the family car in to a boom box. After getting my wife's blessing- "fine, go ahead, you're gonna do it anyway", I ripped out the back seats and laid out a 4'x4' sheet of 1/2" MDF canvas to build on. I ended up with 2x12" diamond D612d4s in a 6 cubic foot box slot ported and tuned to 32Hz LPF@40Hz powered by a Diamond D5 1200.1. A single 10" sub D610d2 in a 1.2 cubic foot sealed box, bridged at 4ohms on a D5 300.2 bandpass filtered 40Hz to 125 Hz, and my rear set of components displayed with the rear and front crossovers in a blue neon lighted box with plexi accents. The front and rear components are driven by a Diamond D5 600.4. The amp rack spans the entire width of the rear of the hatch with a 48" blue LED underbody light stick shining on the amps. Overall it took about 60 hours of my free time in a 3 week period, but I am proud of the results. The pictures are on yahoo photos: http://photos.yahoo.com/cplkittle let me know what you think. In all this seems to be a very nice SQL install, swez on 07/10/2006 08:35:41 All I can say is... WOW!!! Nice layout, great gear selections and nice fabrication work Kit. Gotta love those Diamonds huh? Swez cplkittle on 07/10/2006 14:24:54 I have never had a single problem with any of it until the car show last weekend, I lost a tweet on my rear components. It is still under warranty (barely) but I pushed it all pretty hard showing off a few times. My favorite aspect is that it is SQL, painfully loud, and at the same time I never lose clarity on the mids and highs, even with 3 tweeters, it's still all there.
