I have a VR3 Head Unit, Ever since I installed it, it has been shorting out my SID Display unit and my dashboard and shorts the amp out, all the connections are secure and no memory ever saves, it has its own seperate ground to the chassis and the map does too. I don't know why this is doing it or what not but the last Sony Xplod I had did short out a little bit but not like this. Can anyone help on this issue I do not want to Blow anything or replace anything, any suggestions? Even if you used a wiring kit recheck your wiring and make sure there is no contact with metal, wires don't connect with eachother uless needed to and if no fuses are blowing I'll suggest you don't drive because safety comes first and a fire could get started if wires start to melt. Zach1989 on 07/11/2006 21:35:21 Hey i fixed the problem, turned out that the wiring harness I bought was the wrong kind, found a diagram online wired it the right way and it is all good. The "Power Antenna" wire on the harness was reall a Bus (-) so the positive power was going to a ground connection shorting it out. Thank you for you input.
