Audio connection question?

I have an amp that I want to hook up the the factory head unit. There is no RCA outlets in the back of the head unit. What is the procedure to wire the audio from the amp to the head unit. I know it has something to do with connecting speaker wire from the amp to the wiring harness on the back of the head unit. Please help!

Thanks

you can do it 1 of 2 ways. You can go out and buy a speaker wire - RCA converter thing... or you can use the plug that came with your amp, for the high input. for each one, you take the wires [you will need to extend them] and splice them into the speaker wires. The rear speakers that is.. cause the rear speakers get the most bass, of all the speakers in the car. and then you with the high input, you just plug it into the amp, or with the convertor.. you now have a box with RCA outputs.. that you can just plug in the RCA cables to, and into your amp like you normally would with an aftermarket stereo. Very easy to do, should take 15 minutes to do the whole procedure. even less if the factory rear speakers are easily accessable from the trunk, cause you can splice into them right there. make sure you get the polarity right.

Let me see if I understand this.....the converter box has one end with RCA outputs and on end with speaker wire outputs. The RCA side runs to my amp and the speaker wire side runs to my head unit. Where do the speaker wires attach to the head unit?

Thanks.

alright... yes.. RCA outputs, Speaker wire Inputs.... the RCA side goes to amp, speaker wire side can go to your rear speakers... do you have AIM? it might be easier to explain on that... my sn is SeVeN X7X
