Well I trying to upgrade my 2002 Goldwings stereo with better speakers. The uint is has a 25w factory Panasonic audio system ,the oem speakers are 15w 3ohm. Size of the stock speakers is 4 1/2" and I do not have much room to use anothing else.

The Polks are a 5" speaker and will but with a little cutting on the speaker mounting tabs.

The Diamond Audio is a 4 1/2" speaker the same as the OEM and requires no mods to bolt in.

Problem is I have never heard of Diamond Audio and the Polks are highly recommended for this application, plus cheaper than the DA speakers.

? Will there be that much sound difference berween the 4 1/2 and 5 inch speakers?

?? Has anyone ever used the DA speakers and liked them?

Thanks from the US

Polk makes a very good speaker and have been at it for more than 25 years. I have Polk 5/4" in my car and Polk 7a monitors in my home system. Very pleased with both... if you have enough power to run them.

Diamond is also an excellent speaker maker. They are very high end and cost is probably almost 2x of the Polks. The issue here, boils down to price, fit and quality of sound from either maker. Since you are probably going to use the HU amps for now, the higher the efficiency rating of the speaker you choose, the more SPL you will get out of a smaller amplifier. Ie: 90dB SPL @ 1 watt/1meter is better than 86dB @ 1w/1m.

for a goldwing I don't know that I would look into that range of speaker. You could probably use a cheaper speaker, and not notice the difference. I am going to use diamond audio speakers in my install, and highly recommend them if you can afford them.

Have you looked at the depth of the speakers though? I bet there is not alot of space under there, and a big magnet may not fit.
