JL Audio 250/1 Problem

Hi,

I have a 250/1 amp driving 2- 8W3v2-D4 subs in a custom box I built myself. I added it to the existing premium Rockford Fosgate factory sound system in my truck. I used a Navone NE-7V line adapter as well as a pulse trigger device. The LOC is tapped into the factory DVC subwoofer leads, and the trigger picks up the signal from a stock (right/rear) spkr.
Everything worked great for about a year. I recently removed the box to do some sound deadening in the cab, and upon reinstalling the box, I cannot power up the amp. Instead of the green power light coming on, The red "thermal" light blinks every 5 seconds or so. Any clue as to what this could be?

It sounds like the amp is seeing a short at the outputs and is going into protect mode. Check you sub wiring to make sure there are no tiny wire strands shorting out at the amp outputs or sub box input terminals.

Also, it might be worth a try to restart the amp by pulling the main fuse at the main power line and inspect it. It may have blown when you removed the sub enclosure. If fuse is good, re-install it and see what you get now.

If you cannot get the amp to restart and work properly, call JL's Tech Service and ask some questions and see what they have to say.
