You guys all seem really helpful, maybe you can lend me a hand.I have Infinity Kappa 63.5I 3 ways in the front (RMS 2-75) and Infinity Kappa 682.7cf in the back (RMS 2-100). I'm looking to find an amp that will provide them with sufficient power. I was looking to spend less then $150. does anyone out there have any recommendations? I was looking at a Lanzar HTG414- RMS 4x125W RMS at 2 OHMS. I've been reading around but i can at times be an idiot and i'd rather get some input from people who have some experiance.

Thanks all

Lanzar is a 2nd tier player in this game. Some of their gear is not all bad either. Just not as robust in designs as some of the tier 1 counterparts.

Your front speakers are 4 ohm units. The rear speakers are 2 ohms. This means given equal amp gain settings to each set, your rear speakers are going to be notably louder than the front speakers. (because they are 2 ohm speakers) With careful gain matching and using the fade control on your HU, this can be compesated for.

As for amps, your budget will dictate amp power and quality and features. A power rating of 50 - 75 watts RMS (at 4 ohms) is adequate for this system. Look for brand name amps that will deliver that power range and have good crossovers as well.

1. JBL
2. Kenwood
3. Infinity
4. Polk
5. Blaupunkt
6. HiFonics
7. US Acoustics

Some of the best prices on the net, will be found off E-bay. There are other good sites with bargains on well known brands too. Here are a few to look at:

Sorry to be a bother again but while shopping at sonicelectronics i came across their selection of 5 channel amps. I read earlier in a post they were too expensive, don't remember which one. Turns out there are a few that just might work for my budget and my plans for the future. For christmas i'm buying myself an infinity kappa perfect 10" to stick in a nice sealed box in the back. So, of course, I'm asking again for an expert opinion. From my basic understaning something like the Hifonics ZXi 8006 would supply adequate power for everthing. but as i said, basic understanding. are there any problems i've missed or perhaps a better option with the future sub in mind?

Which model # is your Infinity Perfect 10? (4 ohm single coil or a dual coil version?) It matters a lot, which amp you choose here.

That would be the Infinity Kappa Perfect 10d VQ, dual coil.

Thanks again,

Chris

This is a 4+4 DVC sub. To get the most from that sub, need a 2 ohm stable amp. This sub is rated at 400 watts RMS. I cannot think of any 5/6 channel amps out there, that can manage that much sub power to a 2 ohm load.

It would be better to consider a dedicated sub amp and use a 4 channel amp for the full range speakers.
