new car need help

ok guys, finally made my probation period at work so im not too worried about my job, i work in a food distribution so i have good job security lol everybody needs to eat.... ok am seriously looking into an 01 or 02 ford mustang gt... hopefully i can keep my car payment and insurance under 600 or 700 a month and ill be happy. am wondering what would be a good setup here, i think i am going to start from scratch, i have 2 kicker kx600.1 amps and 2 15inch comp vrs just sitting here but i dont know if i want to use those. a buddy has an almost brand new jl 500/1 that i can get for 200 bucks so i was thinkin about snatching that up... can use my pioneer 6700 for now but will more than likey upgrade to a newer higher level HU... so im working with 500-600 watts for sub power, i still need a good sub, interior speakers, 2-4channel amp for interiors and maybe an eq for some fine tuning.... problem is havent even really looked inside the vehicles too much so i dont know space wise what i have nor do i know what size speakers it takes.... was hoping some of the installers here could help with that

for subs i want something clean but will throw out nasty bass with 500-600 watts. trunk space is no big deal i never put anything int here so if there is not much room after sub box thats ok, was thinking ported enclosure, and either a single 12 or a single 15, what do you guys think????

as for interior speakers what would u guys suggest, i want very crisp clear vocals and highs... midbass is not too much of an issue for me, a good selection of component speakers are out there but i have not been able to keep up on the brands in the last few months.... and of course a good amp to supply ample power here...

as for power i think its possible to get a ford 140 amp alternator under the hood with special brackets, so hopefully i can get one of those for a decent price or ill have to get an aftermarket HO alt... another question here is power wire if i go with 2 gauge or bigger will i be able to run it through the car or will i need to go undereath... is there room in the firewall to string it through, i have 4gauge now that i can use from the disto blocks to the amps.....

also have no clue on the eq, i know pioneer makes a few din sized eqs that look nice but not too sure how they compare or if they are worth the price... so any input on this would be great, plan on test driving a stang or 2 this weekend... hope i can find one i like... thanx alot guys. good day ill be checking back later

I have found a very good EQ from Bahn that can do some very nice things in a 1/2 din package. All it needs, is a single pair of RCA's from the HU and splits out to 6 channels of output that can be handled very well with Control dials on the face.

Audiobahn AEQ6:
Main volume control
Fade control (F & R)
Sub output control
5 band EQ
8 volt line driver
Remote AUX in for DVD or other external source players

I see them online for about $95.00. If you go to e-bay, you may snag one for about $60.00. Very simple to use and all control features are right at your fingertips... no complicated menu driven setup required.

Sub and amp:
Use one of your Kicker 600.1's and a single ported sub. Since you already have a pair of subs and amps, you'll have a spare set or sell/tade for a solid 2/4 channel and full range speakers.

Speakers:
Look at the Infinity Kappa series Comps and Coaxials with external crossovers. These are 2 ohm models too. So, a modest 4 channel amp to power them, may save you the hassles of upgrading to a HO ALT.

I recently installed a pair of 6x8" Coaxials in the rear of an F-150 Crew Cab, powered by a JL 300/4. These speakers were very strong and put out very good midbass too.

We also used CDT 5.25" Classic Comps up front. The 6x8" factory mounts in the front door were converted to 5.25" rounds and we mounted the tweeters up in the door panels. MB was average at best, but the mids and highs were very clean and crisp after the doors were sealed with dampening materials.

We also used a JL 500/1 to power a Powerwedge 10" ported enclosure that is custom made for the F-150's, under the rear seat. Bass was very strong from this combo and only got stronger as the sub broke in and loosened up. For a single 10" sub, this thing sounded amazing!!! In fact, the whole system sounded terrific after all the tweaking was completed.

Food for thought eh?
