My mom is all worried about online buying with her credit card. I told her these sites im lookin at are safe and blah blah. If you have bought the CL-61a that are for $149.99 on thezeb.com cuz of the paint can u please tell my mom how you like them and that there new and how you feel about purchasing from thezeb.com. Also if u have bought anything from ikesound.com can you explain how you feel about purchasing from them. I really appreciate this. I hope my mom likes what she reads . Replies (11) ttocs on 08/5/2003 00:14:29 show her ikesounds feedback on ebay.... There are a number of reputable dealers online. I bought my amp online, as well as my componants and saved almost $900 already from retail. Relax_The_Mind on 08/5/2003 06:06:22 ![]() Hi All this was bought online from Ebay. Even the wires (KnuKonceptz) Ebay is basically a bank now. I trust them more with my credit cards than the local credit union. As well as TheZeb.com which I have ordered subs (MTX6000s a long time ago). Very satisfied. Also note that all online transactions are encrypted and tracked meaning if by a 1 in a million chance a wrong order was made a simple call to the bank or issuer of the credit card and it will be taken off. Statisticaly speaking...you are more likely going to get ripped off using your credit card at a grocery store than online...by far. RTM ps Am I allowed to do that Walt? Swez on 08/5/2003 07:39:52 Hi Ryan's Mom, I understand your concerns here and we all hate to get taken advantage of by con artists. But I had the same issue with my Parents when my Mom wanted something and I found it online for much less than she could find it retail. Once her items arrived and she saw the quality of merchandise and fast deleivery service, she nodded and said... "David, you were right. This is just like shopping QVC or HSN, only many more choices." BTW, I'm 47 and Mom is 78. So..... if my Mother can take a step into cyber space tranactions successfully, maybe you can too. Finally, Zeb is a very good online vendor. They have been around for a long time and offer quality products at prices you'll never get at the big chain stores. The item Ryan mentioned is a huge discount on one of the better products in the game. I lead Ryan there as others have taken the same option and are well satisfied with their purchase. This is an exceptional "best in class" purchase at this price. Swez baine on 08/5/2003 17:43:46 I too have bought online and I tell you what you can save more cash buy shopping online than you might think . Most of the time there are no sales tax , you will pay shipping sometimes but if you can get a deck for 139.00 and it cost 239.00 where you live I would go for the cheaper deck every time. Just always watch to see if they take credit cards and the normaly means they are ligitamate. good luck with your mom . wolfsmane on 08/5/2003 21:31:57 i just bought those cdt cl-61a's and a pioneer deh-850mp deck--a total of about $500.00 from the zeb.com. i was VERY please with the quickness of the delivery, packaging etc..i order on tuesday at noon,,,and received thursday 11:00 of the same week. if purchased at my local shop, stereo alone would have been over $500.00 for the same unit. i, also was very nervous about buying online with the credit card,,,but your credit card should have coverage against online theft/fraud. ryan on 10/28/2003 22:14:30 Me and my mom have been very satisfied with my online purchases. I've ordered from knukonceptz, partsexpress, thezeb, adire, and ikesound. They've all been great just need to wait for my amp and sub to get here but im sure taht will all be fine. ttocs on 10/29/2003 02:04:17 are you gonna put it in? bobbi-digi on 10/29/2003 03:17:23 Looks like this topic has already been dealt with quite thouroughly, but I just thought I'd add a note... Nowadays almost every website transfering digital cash does so under the R.S.A. encryption standard, courtesy of the National Security Agency.... To would-be credit card theives, R.S.A. encryption standard is literally unbreakable. IDEA Look at the icons in the lower right of the Internet Explorer browser window when you are on websites.... If a small yellow lock appears all locked up tight and safe looking then the site is secure, and can be trusted to carry out digital transactions without the possibility of an eavesdropper collecting a card number. (nearly any site which asks for credit card information will be secure, and thus display the yellow lock, but it is worth glancing down before you go plugging that number all over the place) For any site with such a secure connection you take a MUCH greater risk speaking a credit-card or bank account number over a telephone (landlines, as well as cellular phones on p00rly designed networks, and of course the mother of all insecure unencrypted low quality communication - which can easily be intercepted via cheap-0 RadioShack scanners/wireless headphones/etc: The Cordless Phone on a landline!) .-= SeCuRiFy YoUrSeLf =-. DINGALING on 10/29/2003 12:39:04 hey bobbi, not to say you don't know ur stuff or anything, but to say an encryption standard is "literally unbreakable"? come on, all code is able to be broken. there is no "uber code" that can not be broken down. there are some that will take even super computers years to crack (by which time, your order has gone through, and you've probably moved on to get a different set of stuff :) ), but that doesn't mean unbreakable. again, i'm not flaming, just informing... -DINGALING Pinch on 10/29/2003 13:04:27 Yes, to say that code is "unbreakable" is an unsinkably Titanic mistake... ;) ryan on 10/31/2003 21:34:18 Yea ttocs im doin everything myself, have the box built and all the wirining ran so far.
