huge problem...need help before i spazz out

i need help i let my cousin install a cd player for me in my car...well he hooked the harness up and plugged it into the car to make sure it woked well he didnt cover up the ends of the wires where they were exposed and two wires touched or something not my stereo doesnt work and my passenger windoe is acting funny....please tell me there is something simple that can be done to fix this please.....

Amature hack at work... caution!!!

Check your fuse panel for blown fuses. Most shorts like this will blow fuses 1st. If there is no fuse for that circuit, it can damage wires that operate other devices too.

May I suggest you get a Professionl installer to mop up this one, before any greater damage happends?

PS It's folks like this, that give car audio a bad reputation. They know just enough to be very dangerous and costly to the car owner. Sorry, the facts are hard to argue with. Good luck!!!

for the radio...possibly just a fuse. For the window...you're on your own.

nuthings wrecked probably, just replace the fuses and look at every wire and make sure its insulated with at least 3 wraps of black electrical tape and prefereably something better like round vinyl tubing

dome light fuse. as you open the driver door, the fuse box is on the left side of the dash. pop it open, swap the dome light fuse, radio should work. check all your other fuses, too.

yo it worked it was a blown fuse thanks to everyone that gave advice
