Hey, I currently have a single 500 watt amp and sub in my car and I am thinking of adding another 800 watt amp for two Sony 400 watt 4-way 6x9's in the back, but I am thinking this might be too much power draw on my alternator! I found a formula that is supposed to estimate the current draw and I came up wih 188 amps! So I am wondering how to go about including a capacitor, as well how should I run the power wires from the distribution block? How far should I bring 4 ga wire into the car before splitting to 8? Should I go right back to the amps and then split or is it ok to split under the dash and come back with two wires? Also (sorry there are a few questions here) my HU has a sub-out which my amp is on now, as well as front pre-outs. But my amplifier also has an output, so would it be better to connect directly to the HU or chain the two amps together? And is it fine to use the power antenna lead for the turn-on for the second amp? (b/c my current amp is using the amp turn-on lead.) Thanks so much if anyone has some suggestions that would be great!
