My problem is finding the brand and exact sub that I need.
Right now I have a Phoenix Gold Tantrum X 8.0:1 amp which will push 600RMS at 2 ohms.
I am planning on keeping this amp and maybe even upgrading or adding an additional identical amp at a later date.
I want a very dependable and distinguished sub. The price is no big deal; it just needs to be the right one.
The sub needs to be a 10” with around 1000RMS to 1600RMS, 4 ohm dual voice coil, and needs to be around 6” depth wise.
I am going to be building a custom enclosure that I can get up to around 1.85 or maybe even 2’ of airspace, and I am planning on porting it.
I am looking at no specific kind at this moment so all is welcome.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

If price isn't an issue, can't go wrong with a JL W7......

isnt the w7 a 3 ohm sub and rated at 750wrms?
adire brahma is always good if you can come across one, but im not sure of the impedence on the voice coils here
Resonant engineering XXX (not sure if its made in the 10")
Treo SSI (also not sure about the 10")

eclipse 88100 TI is also around 750rms if you are okay with the W7
theres probably a lot more, just a few examples of decent high end subs with mostly 1000rms and over handling abilities

I do agree that the JL W7 would be a nice choice but I need a sub that is around 6" or so deep, with the W7 being 8".
I would appreciate any more suggestions, and would like to know which sub type you would pick from between Resonant Enigineering, Digital Designs, and MMATS.

I really like the resonant engineering subs a lot. i'm using one right now, and my dad has been using one for a couple years now. they are great.
DD and MMATS are perfectly good subs as well and are certainly on the same level as the RE products, so it is pretty much a personal choice(to me at least, some may feel otherwise)
