i hooked up all the proper wires to the amp yet it still remains in protect mode when i turn it on. what are the possible problems of this? im pretty sure my ground is good enough. there are 2 pre outs and 1 pre in on the amp. i tried different combos on it and still didnt work.

disconnect the speakers at the amp and see what happens. If it stays in protection, you have a bad amp. If it goes out of protection, then you have bad wiring or a bad speaker.
