popping sound while using blinker

I've got a problem with a friend's 1998 Chevy Blazer.

When the right blinker is used, there's almost like a popping sound coming from the speakers. I installed an amp and now it seems to have picked it up so now when the blinker is used I can hear it in the speakers and the sub.

What is causing this?

Thanks

Could be the amp gain is set a bit too sensitive here. The amp gain should match the HU RCA output range.

What HU make and model # does he have? Aftermarket or Stock OEM radio?

The HU is an Alpine 7802 and the amp is a VR3 from walmart which is not the best thing to use

OK, two things to check here, perhaps 3. Do these in order given.

1. HU is grounded to floor pan or firewall... NOT stock wiring harness

2. Make sure the amp is well grounded to floor pan (bare metal grounds always)

3. Set gain on amp to midpoint of selector range

you can try running a ground for your amp all the way to your battery

i agree that battery grounds are solid grounds, but i wud prefer not running a ground wire longer then 2 ft.
