OK heres the deal, just finished installing my system, 12" RF Punch DVC sub, 1000Watt Crunch Amp, stock deck, rca line out converter, 4 gauge amp wiring kit. as far as i know from the diagram i used, the rem wire is spliced into the radio ignition wire behind my stock deck. everything seemed to work fine, amp turns on and off with my ignition, cd, radio sounds great, pretty clean bass....UNTIL i flip my headlights on and all the speakers and sub immediately begins to emit a continuous tone like a "dooooooooooo" dunno if ud call it feedback or noise cancelling, basically a loud annoying constant sound. so either i have to keep my deck off at night or i can drive with my headlights off at all times to enjoy my system =o) id be grateful if anyone can even shed a bit of light as to where to begin fixing this problem thx in advance to anyone who can help Replies (5) swez on 04/26/2006 16:42:09 Sounds like a bad ground loop problem here. Check you amp ground to amke sure it's well grounded to bare metal. Also, where are you getting the audio signal from, to power your sub amp? Are you using high input or RCA (line) inputs on this amp? Swez ttocs on 04/26/2006 16:51:04 did you ground the Line out converter(LOC)? there is normally a ground wire that comes with those. I was always taught that you should try it with out grounding it, and if there was noise then ground it... vkan702 on 04/26/2006 21:09:12 Thx guys, you were completely right, just needed to ground the rca line out to the amp. my buddy didnt ground it and told me he did. anyway, thx again, u saved me from trying to splice my rem wire into other wires cuz thats what i was about to try swez on 04/26/2006 23:08:16 Right, this is a no-ground scenario. You just a loud hum without proper grounding. Good call ttocs! CLAP Swez ttocs on 04/27/2006 00:46:00 hey kewl..... welcome. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
