hey guys have a couple of questions for ya, maybe someone here works for a cell phone carrier or might have the same phone... i just bought the motorola i870 to be used with nextel carrier.... well i dont have the phone yet nextel is shipping it today and will be here tomorrow.... but this thing has a few bells and whilstles like bluetooth technology, transflash memory card, 1.3mega pixel camera, can record video with sound, walkie talkie, speakerphone, and a built in mp3 player that runs off the memory stick, just to name a few.... well with the bluetooth i know that i can use wireless headset but it is also capable of downloading things from other bluetooth phones not sure it that is just the same exact phone or if its any bluetooth capable phones.... i also know it can d/l things from the computer, but do i need like a use dongle for that or how does it transmitt???? and if so can i use that for transfering mp3s to the phone???? and the whole mp3 thing is another question, how exactly do i put the songs on there, is there an easier way than taking the memory card out putting it in the adapter and then d/ling to the card, do they make a certain cable for this, i see a usb data cable but i dunno if that is what i need for the mp3 player or it that just controls like address book, ringtones, backgrounds.... the phone only comes with a 32mb card, wiast of time lol only holds 9-11 songs, i am going to get the scandisk 1gb card with will hold over 300 lol, prolly over kill but it will be nice for pics and videos and stuff.... so if anybody here has any experience with this phone or can help with any of the questions pleaes feel free.... its amazing how far cell phones have come lol... im too younge to have owned one but i remember seeing ppl caring cases around like pusres to hold whatever for cell phones way back.... neways any help will be greatly appreciated GRIN Replies (3) MrBrownstone on 04/18/2006 13:14:40 i used the bluetooth earpiece for my own phone. It's a great unit, and has quite the range. With respect to music through the phone, this is where we part company. I have no interest in that, nor special ringtones. i don't know if you can download things from other phones, or if they have to send it to your account from their phone. I guess noone here has a lot of knowledge or need for this type of technology. You're our pioneer! audionewb on 04/19/2006 08:46:10 If it's like my Razr I had to buy a dongle for my computer then I set up all the software and had it search for devices while my phone was near it. It found my phone and I had to set up a password for the connection or osmething. Then all you have to do is get your favorite mp3 (at least a Razr plays mp3s) and then just get a program that will cut the mp3 ( i recommend mp3DirectCut) and cut it down to the time that your phone rings (a Razr rigngs for 20 secs), save the selection as a new mp3. Then go to your little bluetooth icon in the system tray click find bluetooth devices, then click on the icon that should say something like motorola cellular phone, then click on the file transfer folder or something like that, then click on the audio folder, then copy your music you want to copy over into that folder. GTG to work now hope that helps MrBrownstone on 04/19/2006 12:24:55 well, at least it wasn't complicated :-P Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
