Evening guys, Could any installers out there tell me where I might find a hand held crimping tool which would allow me to to crimp terminals to power wire up to 1awg? I know you guys have soom handy gadgets in the tool box. This would help me out in many situations. Thank You PS I checked my usual places(Parts Express, onlinecarstereo, sonic etc )with no luck Demetrios Replies (4) swez on 04/15/2006 02:42:26 I have seen ratchet type crimpers for heavy gage wires/terminations at AutoZone. But the basic tool that works most times, are Vise Grips or soldering. Some can get the job done well with a hammer and flat bladed screw driver or chisel blade. Takes a steady hand and well aimed blow. If needed, let an autoparts Pro do these for you. The tools costs more than they are worth, just for a few times of use. Lewis, looks like the hammer style battery lug connector will do just fine.($29.95) I will be making ring terminal connections for "BIG 3" engine wires using 2awg and all power and ground wires for install in my new car. Thanks again. MrBrownstone on 04/16/2006 01:18:33 at the Home depot, I bought a 2/0 wire cutter that had a crimper built in on the inside. $10-$12 for it.
