1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery

I am going to install a modest but clean system in a 1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery wagon(for you old farts ,it looks similar to a Nomad).

This is not your typical Sedan Delivery.
This is an 800H.P., fire breathing, honest to God,ground pounding hot rod.

When completed, this car will fetch a cool 150,000 Jr bacon cheese burgers!

I feel both honored and privileged to have been asked to select and install the componets including amp rack and custom kicks.

I have agreed to do this free of charge because it is such a beautiful car and I really want to put my name on it.GRIN

The owner has made it very clear that he does not want a sub engine so this will be mids and highs only but quality mids and highs.

The owner has stated that he just wants very clean sound to listen to @ dirive ins and car shows so thats is my goal.

What I want from you guys is your own opinions on componet sets and set ups. Would prefer product reccomendations that you have used or have experience with.

Swez and I have thrown ideas around but would like everyone to get involved if interested.

Will be posting some images on Car Domain soon!!

Post away gents!

Mike COFFEE

PS Budget for entire setup is $2000.00

You can just put your finger on any of the above products in each categories and you wont go wrong...

ofcourse there are many other equally good or even better brands out there, but these are what I see would be the best for your application, considering the Brand / Price / Performance ratio. COFFEE

Victor..

P.s : I understand your requirement of clean crisp sound reproduction, but what you need to understand here is that until and unless you do not incorporate a sub in a system its almost impossible to reproduce the complete audible spectra.. and no component set out there ( no matter what the manufacturers claim ) is able to produce bass below 50Hz at a significant level.

I would suggest you incorporate a small 8" 150-200wrms sub with a matching amp, this would fill in the low frequency gap in your music.

Hope this helps,, lol took me 2 hrs to find these links..

anyways, enjoy, and get back in case u need more help..

well im pretty much a jl audio junkie. my suggestion would be 3ways up front for a little deeper sound since there will be no sub. i did a little price checking on onlinecarstereo.com and came up with this...

Pioneer Premier DEH-P780MP
In-Dash CD/ MP3/ WMA/ WAV/ ACC Receiver
$399.00

JL Audio 300-4
Multi Channel Amp
$399.00

JL Audio XR653-CSi
6-1/2" 3-Way Component Speakers System
On Sale!!! $369.00

JL Audio XR650-CSi
6-1/2" 2-Way Component Speakers System
Hot Deal $248.00

i just through in the XR650-CSi because i dont know what size speakers you want, and figured it would make a good rear fill with the tunable crossover. the amp should be able to power all the speakers easily.

if it is decided that a sub could be added i would switch over to a 500/5 and change the rears to an efficient coaxial set and add something like a 10w3 for the sub

the head unit was picked because it has the ability to fine tune just about everything and dont look that bad either (have to look at pioneers website to see it).

this should all make for a fairly simple and clean install (and sound really good too) if you dont like jl then i really dont know what to say because right now its about the best any of the shops in my area sell. which means its also the best i can hear.

If there is space for 3-way comps, the Diamond Hex system is pretty much the cat's me-yow. The MR/TW's in front and 8" woofers in back might be a very interesting option.
