Ive got 3 fosgate 100.2 and 1 fosgate 150.s. amps 2 infinities 693.7i front speakers 2 pioneer 6.5 4 ways back door 2 puunch 10" in the back . I want to use all 4 amps in my 05 Ram quad cab . what configuration will give me max performance? The head unit is a jvc kdavx I dvd 3 outputs. Replies (6) swez on 04/8/2006 12:01:04 Which model # Punch 10's do you have here? This install is going to be a challenge as the 100.2 is rated at 25 watts RMS @ 4 ohms and 35 watts RMS @ 2 ohms per channel. The Infinity 6x9's are 2 ohm speakers and can handle up to 110 watts RMS of input power. The 150.s, might be your best bet here. You can use one of the 100.2's to power your rear speakers here. As for the subs, if they are 4 ohm, single coil subs, it would be best to use 1 amp per sub. You'll want to bridge each amp to MONO for most power to each sub. These are all very modest power amps. But, if configured properly, it could turn out to be a very nice system. FYI: Since you plan on running 4 amps here, it would be very advisable to use a Relay controlled REMote power line to feed all amps. Most HU's can support 2-3 amplifiers with adequate REM power. Here, we are looking at 4 amps. That load may burn out your REM chip power supply on the HU. Here's a link on how to install a relay to power amps, lamps, fans etc: http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.asp This is the diagram, specific to your application: Connecting Additional Devices to the Remote Turn On Lead Swez workingman70 on 04/8/2006 16:01:37 the 10 s are 200 watt 4 ohms single coil. workingman70 on 04/8/2006 16:37:35 Ive always herd the fosgates are under rated . where is a good place to purchase thr relay? swez on 04/8/2006 19:59:56 This is a common car relay made by Bosch and others. I believe it comes in several current ratings. (30, 40 & 60A's) It is a 12 volt coil unit, draws about 0.2 amperes of current and is commonly called a SPST relay device. Every autoparts store will carry this one. A 30A unit is plenty for this application. Study the wiring diagram closely. There are 2 circuits here. One activates the coil, (HU REM switch) and the others are power I/O lugs and ground. (off the BAT or amp power feed line) Yhis output line is dedicated to REM power lugs on each amp used only. Bosch P/N: 0 332 019 151- 12 volt, SPST 40A --- five terminals http://order.waytekwire.com/IMAGES/M37/catalog/218_052.PDF You'll probably want the 5 terminal female pigtail as well. This comes prewired in a female plastic housing and 5 wires. Otherwise, you can make your own with female spade lugs and add your own wires. If you go this route, use the insulate lugs for short protection. RF amps have been under-rated historically. If they come with birth sheets, they'll have the actual test data for a given amp, along with the matching serial number. The other option is to measure AC voltage output from each amp, but this is an involved process with several test gear components most don't have lying around the house. (Ie: O-Scope, voltage meter, Signal generator, DC power supply [12.5 -14.5 volts DC/50A's, and dummy load resistors. A single RF 100.2 bridged MONO per sub, is the best you can do here. I would anticipate ~120 watts RMS @ 4 ohms. Not a bad number for these subs either. Do you have .pdf links for the amps and subs mentioned? I ask this so I can determine the power draw all amps will use. This will dictate the wire gage and fusing needs from the BAT, to a distribution block which feeds all amps and the relay power I/O terminals. Swez workingman70 on 04/8/2006 22:25:05 found the relay, will let you know how it sounds.
