HD Head Units

Hey guys,
I'm looking at HUs and finding many with a high definition radio feature. Does this feature enhance satellite radio signals or just regular radio. I currently have Sirius satellite and never listen to regular radio anymore. I am trying to avoid all un neaded features and upgrade from Alpine 9851.
Thanks
Demetrios

"HD Radio™ is digital radio. If you're listening to a station with HD Radio technology, you'll hear FM radio that approaches near CD-quality sound, and AM radio that sounds as good as current FM. You can also get song title or artist name info with your broadcasts. With HD Radio multicasting potential, you may find that your favorite station delivers news and music channels simultaneously. What's missing? Only the static, crackling, and fading of analog radio. And it's all without yearly subscription fees. No wonder HD Radio technology is heating up."

thats from crutchfield.com

if you dont listen to your local channels then you wouldnt want this and it seems like a rather expensive add on.
alpine = $250
kenwood = $380
eclipse = $430
+ the hd ready head unit (prices from crutchfield.com too)

think ill do like i did with my tv and wait for hd to come down on price before i try it
