i have a 1992 sedan deville, brand new alternator, optima yellow top 4 g wireingwith ground/fused dist. blocks 2.5 farad capasator... running a kicker kx800.2 and a smaller 4 channel sonysorry model # not onhand, its just for highs the kicker pushes a 15"L7 inclosed in a vented 4.5 cu box, sounded great in my prior ride....now that it has been installed in my lac, it cuts out like lack of power,and sometimes when i use features of the car like th ewindsheild fluid or turn signals i get a cutting out distortion... i have read on here before i posted... i dont know what a big 3 upgrade is ... maybe that is my problem...? however i think this may go deaper...any resopnces are appreciated tyty Replies (3) Ash on 03/5/2006 08:40:59 Sounds like you might have a grounding problem. ttocs on 03/5/2006 10:48:23 what kind of head unit? swez on 03/5/2006 10:49:08 Might want to measure the input voltage at each amp and also at the D-blocks here. It sound like the amps are not getting enough power to operate correctly. A DC voltage meter is needed. You should get a solid 13.5 volts at BAT+/GND, similar numbers at D-blocks and same voltage at amp B+ inputs to grounds. If well under 12.5 volts with engine running, electrical problems.
