Shadow_Dragon on 03/3/2006 15:48:14 I'll start it off. I have a Sony CDX-CA710X Stereo. I need to know how to connect my Toshiba F40 Portable mp3 player without using a RF Modulator. Can anyone help? swez on 03/3/2006 16:18:27 If your Sony HU has AUX inputs, there is a way to use the headphone jack on MP3 and Laptops to play via your HU. If no Aux is available, sometimes, a kit integrator that used a bus for CD changers, can be adapted. A quick look shows this HU does have Change and MD connection features, but not the typical RCA based AUX input. One of our resident installers should be able to help when they log on. I would appreciate it. swez on 03/3/2006 16:52:12 If you wanted to get some info on real time basis and what kit is needed, try calling or contacting: www.crutchfield.com Their Techs are available for calls and e-mails to explain what interface kits may work on your HU. Swez Shadow_Dragon on 03/8/2006 19:13:56 Actually, my Brother and me sit in here Fri. night and figured out a way to do it. Not necessarily recommended but it works like a charm. The stereo has a plug for a Rotary Remote that comes with the stereo. I will never use it considering the system also came with a credit card remote ( Wireless ) so we opened the system up, located the sockets board, located the channel board. Disconnected the sockets wires, soldered wires from specific channels to the socket board end of those wires. Presto. Now I have a stereo that will play from my mp3 player, on any radio channel, as long as it's plugged in and powered up. It over-rides the radio signal but only if it's plugged in and powered up. Otherwise I get normal radio. As I said, works like a charm. Probably saved me 40 or 50 bucks too. LoL I wasn't worried about voiding a warranty. I've had the stereo so long the warranty was long gone. LoL Anyway, there's one solution, for those that have the know how. Thanx for trying to help me, swez. L@tEr D@Ze.... swez on 03/8/2006 20:14:43 Very good Sir! The best place to tap in here, would be the CD Changer/MD bus input socket. I would think the socket has 2 pair of audio inputs, changer control function wires and perhaps a 12 volt power and ground line as well. If that is what you tapped into, audio input lines, should be good to go. Also, check your remote for a selection switch feature that allows one to switch from tuner to Bus link devices. That feature may also be part of the control selection menu o the HU face panel. Nice work! Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
