Just got off the phone with my mother. They FINALLY decided that I can have her car.

Let me explain.... When I was 18 my normally reserved parents said that they were thinking about trading in my mothers 87 ford tempo for a new car. I was amazed when they said that they liked the new model mustang comming out, would I like to go to the dealership with them? HECK YA!! I could not believe that they walked out of there with one on order with out never actually driving one. 94 if you are a mustang fan you will remember that they came out with the new curvy style body, but still had the 5.0. When they picked it up it was the 2nd one it town and it got looks like it was a Ferrari. People stopped us on the way home at stop lights to look and talk, we had never been(and probably never have since) been sooooo coooool......... I thought for sure that they would never, EVER(never ever never ever ever ever ever) let me drive it. I was amazed when they said that I could take it out for the day/night. Threw my g-friend and her friend in it and took off. We were sitting at a Y shaped interesection waiting for traffic to clear up, and I was gonna give it a little gas to see what it would do. When traffic cleared, I gave it a little gas, let off the clutch, and it didn't hold traction for even a second before launching out into the intersection sideways, tires screaming(little too much gas). I remember looking down the road in the direction I wanted to go(the back end had swung past where it should have been) and seeing a corvette comming at me. I have absolutly no clue how I straightened it out and going forward... The next thing I remember was shifting into 3rd 15-20 seconds later, white, and sweating like all heck. I looked at my g-friend and her friend and they had the same, frozen, sweaty, white look on their face. It had a bit of a scare, and a bit of a smile at the same time... I remember mumbling "that was kinda cool, I don't think I'll do that again", and they both just said "ya".

It has forever been nicknamed by my friends as "the momstang" and I have been itchin to get my hands on it since that first burn out. 3 yrs ago my parents bought a 300c for mom as she has an arthritic hip, and the clutch is a bit heavy. I thought for sure it was gonna be mine but instead, my father parked it in the garage as he said he was not ready to get rid of it yet, but I could get it when they wanted to get rid of it. I am planning on keeping the momstang and telling this story fer the next 30 yrs. Of course they do this when I have finally started making progress on my truck. I want to keep the truck for my biking, and slap a super charger and some side pipes on the mustang. That will have to wait and be put on the project list darnit. It is in indiana and I am in az.........

Some things are just plain worth waiting for. A '94' Momstang, <25,000 miles on it, 5.0 and a stick, heck ya... good for you ol boy. Your parents knew you needed some time to settle down, before passing it on to ya. hehe

This time, practice your burn outs, in the wide open spaces so you can get the feel for what this car does when ya tromp on the after burners. If this car does not have posi-track, consider getting a new 'pig' that will give both wheels the power.

My last "rocket drive" was a 300ZX. Oh... what a rush that was to drive.
Have fun, but be cool too dude!

Dude

Seriously, I wouldn't want that if I were you. Your mom kicks more arse than you do, and a constant reminder of that would be unbearable.

I suggest you save the money you were spending on a truck, and get your own manly ride. I suggest something that suggests:

-Middle-aged
-Balding fast
-below average looking
-trouble getting it up
-it wasn't that big to begin with
-you want a woman 1/2 your age

That's what I'd do.

the mustang actually has almost 80k miles on it, but they were well driven miles. I would take the car out when I was home from college always had a good time in it. As the years went by I bacome more comfortable in that car then any other. I still have my truck to do all the things that Mr B wants.....

Now I actually miss my neighbor. He was dating a girl that worked as a secretary at the bodurant driving school.... I finally find a use for him and he moved back east.

Now I just need to figure out how to get it out here. I have a bunch of ideas in mind but my favorite would have me screaming across the US with the cannon ball run theme song blaring from the mach 460 tape deck........

Hehe.... any cheap flights you can get one-way from AZ to IN? Should be some, if you look at the web sites like Travelosity, Orbitz, ect.
Try these:

Like the Doobie Brothers? "Rocking down the Highway," is a great driving tune.

Go fetch,
Swez
