The windows (driver/passenger and rear seat position) have rubber guides and "feathered" anti-rattle devices in the window tracks. Some vehicles also employ a passive pressure device to prevent rattles in the down position.

Over time, these components degrade and become less effective. (Shinkage, UV damage and compression) Installing new guides and such, should tighten up the fit and produce less rattles and wind noise. The same thing happens with door jamb seals and lift gates. (on trucks)

If you desire to minimize these noises, it will be time consuming and a degree of additional expense. But, the end results should be worth it.

PS You can try shimming or deep cleaning the rubber tracks with rubbing alcohol and a mild detergent. Sometimes it works, sometimes just not adequately. Have a good look at the window track guides. If they are rotted away, missing sections or cracked badly, replacing them is your best option.

A quick order from JC Whitney should solve most of the rattle problems. When I first got my blazer, I knew right away from driving, the door and window seals had to be replace. It was well worth it. Just be sure to pinpoint where the problem is to be sure to get the right parts.
