i really hope you do not spend 9000 dollars on a single system, something of that cost that is directed towards spl will more than likely do some damage to that vehicle... if i was looking for massive spl output, id look into a dual or triple 12,15,18 inch setup...

(33 mm xmax, this will move some crazy air 600-1000 dollars)

orion 15inch sub, on sale now, what a steal!!!)

audiobanh immortal, crazy sub high spl

hifonics amps, this one puts out 3000watts

this one puts out 2000watts rms. will want some huge amps too feed the power hunger woofers. one amp per woofer... as for batteries i would look in to something like this
http://www.edesignaudio.com/wire_product.php?productid=193
(2150 cold cranking amps)
http://www.edesignaudio.com/wire_product.php?productid=178
(zero gauge power cable will also need big 3 wire upgrade)

as for alternator im not really sure what size you will need but here is a site to check into
http://www.ohiogen.com/html/catalog.html

just to let you know, for every additional woofer you add you will gain a max of 3db, and by having two 2500watt rms amps and 2 2500watt rms subs you will only get about 6db more output than if you chose just one woofer and one amp... i really dont think it pays off but hey what do i know lol.... just not my cup of tea....

!!!!most important thing here will be the install, even will all the top dollar high end equipment it can sound bad if not installed correct.. enclosure will be a big deal here, let others reply but with a properly built enclosure you would be amazed at how much of a difference it makes... i can post more later, its 7:30 am and still have not went to bed... just think about what you really want, but for $2-3K you can have a killer spl system... you will need the rest of your money to invest in some hearing aids cuz this type of system will do some major damage, no joke, easily can do hearing damage that is not fixable. i love loud bass dont get me wrong but i want to be able to hear as best as possible for as long as possible.. good luck, have a look at some of the things i listed and let us know what cha think

If your just starting off in car audio, I wouldnt recommend jumping head 1st dropping $9000 on an SPL system. But if you must, then ok, but be ready to do alot of work, and reading before you buy your components.

Do you want a daily driver? or a Pure SPL one note wonder trailer queen? A Daily driver can get loud, and can win competitions if built correctly but you need to remember a couple things,

#1, You need to find out what SPL organization your going to be competing in, find out what class you want to compete, and build your system within the guidlines specified. Otherwise you'll be dropping all this cash, and time, only to get plopped in the extreme class and get ur ass whomped by the professional SPL monsters that will be pumping 175dB plus, and you'll be chillin between 145 and 150's.

#2, Dont expect to get high numbers right off the bat, To accomplish high numbers, and break the 150dB mark takes alot of time designing, constructing, and testing numerous designs b4 you find the right setup.

Figure out what you want, and then let us know, I can help you but starting off small, is a good start

What do you mean by the ultimate system? My ultimate system is moderately loud with superb sound quality. That’s just me; I don’t get the SPL thing.

If I had that kind of money to dump I would start with some serious and thorough sound deadening. I can’t stand road noise, wind noise, hums, rattles, buzzing, and whatever screwing up the time and money I put into my SQ.

Whatever you want, forget the capacitors and upgrade your alternator. A high output alternator and some 4 or 0awg to rewire your bat and alternator ground and the bat-alternator connection will do far more than a cap. A cap will only fill extremely short lived and transient under voltage. It won’t fix a weak electrical system; it will just add one more drain on the alternator, another nail in its coffin so to speak.

see right now i am really looking at getting like 4 15" subs this isnt my first system ive been into car audio for around 6 years and second off im not really planing on going to compitioton this is more for my own personal enjoyment every now and then when i want to really turn it up i want to have some real good power .im not looking for spl i want a "really" strong system but i want it to sound clean i will more than likely run a sealed box but im not just looking for subs and amps i want to have a great sounding stereo system lows mids and highs and aparently good well great bass when nedded im looking for total audio bliss in my ride but in the past ive allways only had a few hundreed dollars to spend so ive never really used any reall high quality merchandise so i need help to pice all of these compenents together to build my ultamate system where the music is real clean and crisp and verry powerful

the currentsubs and amp that i have in my other car i audiobahn a8000t two aw121t's in a sealed box for the rodeo im not sure if id like Rockford Fosgate , Audiobahn , MTX , JL ,or some thing else but im not to sure what subs would really be my best bet i really dont have two much experience with subs of this level RF T2 audiobahn Etrernals and so on but id still like some input on a great set of components and what not thank you all

A lot of guys who want high SPL Bass Machines, (+150db) use a wall of subs in various configurations. These are "NOT", daily drivers. However, with careful planning, lots of research and careful product selection, you can get a 130+ dB system w/o huge amps and many expensive subs/amps.

Realize that Concert level SPL's are typically about 120dB. (35-18,000 Hz.) That's enough to damage your hearing permanently, over sustained listening periods. Also, if we go +9dB above this number, we have effectively doubled the perceived SPL in the cabin. That is definitely a hearing loss harbinger to come.

Strong bass is neat, once in a while, but if you match the mid/highs to keep up with the bass... your ears are going to be ruined in short order. That is, if you stay in the vehicle and do not wear hearing protection.

FYI: We have done a number of night club systems that can do well over 130dB, full range. The last one we installed, was so strong at the target zone, (1,500 sq ft dance floor) I had to leave the building and grab some ear protection. We set the threshold to max out at 108dB. (mid/highs) Subs were more like 125dB.

This was a large area dance floor and a large club too. The MB/MR/TW's were 15 feet above the floor and the subs were on the dance floor parameter.

Get the picture? THINK

FYI: I'm hitting 146db's solid w/ 2 15" kicker L7's in a ported box, w/ 2 SX650.1's. The only electrical upgrades i've done is a 750 CCA yellow top battery and 1/0 awg wire for the big 3. Just letting you know, it really doesn't take much. I spent about $1700, $1000 of which was the two kicker digital amps. Could've def. gone cheaper if i didn't get the digital ones. Also, doing the install yourself saves a lot. I built the box as well. I think you're gonna have a hard time spending the $9000 on a "daily driver", unless you're getting some really really good equipment.

Dustin, dont mean to prod or call it, but what was wrong with your windshield to crack it? it takes over 160dB to break an OEM windshield in good condition. The rear window is a different story since the metal flexes and can twist the window. I'm pushing over 145dB with a single 15 and my windshield will not budge....the rear and side windows on the otherhand dance about a half inch or more with at 28hz test tone.
