Im making a ported box for my 12" Brahma. It will be tuned to 30hz in a 2cu ft box. I used the formula of jlaudio's site to figure out the stuff for my port. But i've been out of school to long and my math skills arent with me right now. I want to use 2 4" ports. The height of my box is goin to be 16" so if the ports need to be longer im goin to make a slot port. Now my problem is that i cannot isolate the variable to find the ports length, can someone please help! Thanks

May I suggest that you write (e-mail) to Adire Technical and ask for details on port recommendations for your parameters noted. They can tell you the port recomendations at that tuning frequnency for this sub in the enclosure size mentioned.
Also, if you go with round ports (PVC pipe) and the depth of the box is not deep enough for proper clearance, can always use elbows (45 or 90 degree) to snake the pipe into the enclosure. As long as the port diameter and length are correct, this will work well. Just be sure to account for the port(s) air space usage as this will reduce the overall air space to the enclosures internal air volume.
In order to hit your targets, you may have to increase the enclosure's internal air space to account for port air space losses. In short, get some inputs from Adire before you commit:

I recieved a quick reply. They said to use a slot port 2 x 10 thats 23" long then they told me how to occupeny for the volume of the port and driver. Adire is very helpful now i cant wait to get everything and put it in the car.
