Me thinks he gets a nice commission on overpriced wire and was more than willing to baffle you with BS, rather than dazzle with a brilliant fact or two??? How long are the cables needed? Swez PS One thought... if you use a fiber optic linking system, it will give better bandwidth performance. Standard coaxial cables are fine for limited bandwidth of Audio only. PSS Here's what Crutchfield has to say: Q: "What do I connect to the mobile DVD player/receiver's optical or coaxial (RCA) digital output"? A: "The optical and/or coaxial digital outputs on a DVD player's back panel are for sending various types of digital audio bitstream to compatible components. If you're playing a DVD movie, the multichannel audio (Dolby Digital or DTS®) is sent to the decoder in a surround processor, which separates it into six channels of audio (front right and left, center, rear right and left, and subwoofer). Although coaxial connections usually have standard RCA-type connectors, the cable itself is specially designed to handle the much wider frequency bandwidth of digital signals. With optical connections, the signal is transmitted as pulses of light through a fiber-optic cable." BgDustin4 on 01/20/2006 20:52:09 hum so i need to get some optical rca's ? or coaxial swez on 01/21/2006 12:04:15 Depends on your video player and monitors. If they are digital, then they probably use fiber optic cables. If older stle analog, then std RCA's should work. Swez BgDustin4 on 01/21/2006 17:38:28 i got some reg audio rca's i ran a ps2 off a 16 ft one and it works and looks just fine swez on 01/22/2006 13:39:22 Good nuff Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
