-Legacy 1800 Watt Red Series 2 amp -2 JL Audio 10W0 subwoofer @ 8 ohm ea. (here is the manuel):http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/10_12_15W0_MAN.pdf I got a few questions on connecting and everything. I'll try to make this as simple as possible. First! go here....and look at the 2nd picture (it is a side view) http://cgi.ebay.com/LEGACY-AMP-AMPLIFIER-RED-SERIES-500-W-WATT-2-CHANNEL_W0QQitemZ5844549227QQcategoryZ48599QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Now...If you can see well enough it says "level" with a mix & max turn knob...What do i put that on? Next...it says "freq" and below that a choice of "full, ipf, and hlf"....What do i put that on Lastly come 3 knobs..."bass boost" (with a min and max), "high pass" (with a min and max), and "low pass" (with a min and max). What should those knobs be turned to? Replies (6) BgDustin4 on 12/21/2005 16:45:03 on first off are they going in a port box or a seald box lilschtive on 12/21/2005 17:11:41 sealed compvr15s on 12/21/2005 18:46:21 for the freq setting, put the switch to lowpass, and adjust the knob to 80-100hz, your using 10s so they play the sum-what higher freqs better, stay below 100hz tho. bass boost, set that to zero for not, probably wont be needed, and if it is needed never go about +3 on this setting, much over and it will start sending very distorted signal to the sub and the amp will start clipping. the level knob is your gain setting. are you using an aftermarket cdplayer??? if so make sure you have your head units eq set to zeros as well. turn the music up to where you would listen to it the loudest for a given period of time(no more than 75% of max) then start adjusting the level knob up until you hear some muffled distortion out of your sub woofers, once you hear this just dial the knob down a lil bit... then when you are not listening to your music at the volume you used to set the amp with, this is where you can adjust from your head unit, just boost the low end eq up a few notches. or if this amp has a bass knob(not sure if it does) then you can use this to increase the bass boost as needed when the head unit is not all the way up and you want a lil more bump from your subs...do not go happy with the boost, you WILL damage your subs over a period of time, distortion is thier worst enemy.. good luck lilschtive on 12/21/2005 20:19:05 ok for the freg, which one of the 3 is low pass? oh i think this is making sense why my bass knob isnt verry effective. so if i set my bass boost low, my bass knob can be used to turn it yup and down if im correct. my HU is a Blankpunt 168 watt...old model compvr15s on 12/21/2005 21:47:24 should be a high/pass full range, and a low/pass.. might be named as something else, select the one that is not full or high-pass... yea you set the boost on tha amp to the highest it will be set (+3) then when u use the knob it will only let you go that high..(ithink, correct me if im wrong fellas)...goodluck lilschtive on 12/22/2005 21:09:45 thank you :)) Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
