Looked at your site link and noted the foam backer may cause you grief later. Am wondering if you can attach a few small pieces of wood as a "backer" joint and use pop rivets (or screws) to secure your glass work to these backer joints?

You know glass will stick to wood just fine. But plastics and foam may be unstable as time and vibration come into play. See any options that would allow for adding some wood backing strips?

I don't understand what you were doing with the vinyl?

I went out yesterday and scraped off all the foam to expose the bare plastic rather than taking a chance fiberglassing over the foam. I'm going to see if i can attach some wood to the plastic paneling in order to have a good solid bond but not sure how it'll turn out. A guy I know that does work like this says that If I scrape up the plastic to get a rough surface that the Fiberglass should bond better.

ttocs, at 1st I had tried to attach the panel to the wood by justs fiberglassing over the vinyl hoping it would bind. Held for a while but then broke loose so I was going to try and soak the foam underneath the vinyl to make it solid for a good base. Now its just down to bare plastic.

Swez, did you get a chance to see the finished Mustang install? I know u were gone when I had posted the finished thread.

drill holes in teh plastic to allow the glass to bond on both sides and through your piece. You might need to put a layer on the back, but by sandwiching the plastic it will hold.

PL, don't think I saw the final results on that Mustang install you did recently. Just link me the post and such and I'll take a look.
