Too many FARADS?

I was wandering if my capasitor had to many FARADS on my amplifier would it damage my amplifier at all? I want to get a three FARAD capasitor and hook it up to my 980 watt Power Auokustik amplifier. Will this "blow up" my amplifier?

No, but I dont much care for Capacitors. "Audio Jewelery" is all I think they are. Your better off getting a High CCA Deep Cycle Battery for a real benefit.

Basically, there is one source of power in your car...the alternator. Everything else is a storage device. Capacitors store so little energy, all they really can do is keep your lights from dimming. Here's a little link to get you started:

Hehe, it's been a while since I read that post and once again, it's got me chuckling in my sandels.

Ever consider writing "Children's" story books? With your imagination and writing skills, they could become a best seller in no time. The hard part will be to find an artist to come up with zany illustrations to match your story lines. Egads! She would have to be as loony tunes as Mr. B. Now that a match made in heaven!

Imagine that, a mild mannered "Mortgage Broker" (read as slick talking, used car salesman) and his wife is an "Art-teest". (a tempermental perfectionsist that thinks well outside the box) That would be a classic case of "Opposites Attract". But I'll digress a bit...

If I were to write children's books, it would be way over your head.

hard right turn... into a dark alley.

You're right ttocs (as usual) and as many of us already know, Caps can help to a degree with minor light dimming issues. However, they can also create more problems too.

Why? Because when they recharge, they too put more load on the electrical system. This puts more stress on the BAT and ALT in the process and the net gain is very minimal VS the cost of a Cap.

In high wattage systems, a strong BAT (800 CCA or more), will help a lot to buffer current draw. Also, upgrading the main power wires from ALT to BAT, BAT to GND and engine block to firewall, (#4 gage is good) will help a good deal. The larger gage wires have less resistance and can carry over 100 amperes of current.

PS Mr. B.... you a naughty little boy! If Santa does drop by at all, don't be surprised if you get a bag of coal this year. LOL Errr, uhmmm, dohhh... It is pretty hard to be way over my head at 6'3".

I used to read lots of kiddie books to my kiddos when they were small. They each would have a pile of books on thier beds to choose from and each could pick 3 to read that night.

By age 5, my daughter preferred National Geographic. She loved the maps of distant places and some of the color photos are just the best you'll find anywhere. My son, liked stuff on airplanes and war birds. His favorite is the SR-71 spy plane. I bought him a model kit of it, when he was 10. This boy put it together on his own with only minor help. Thanks to thier Mom, they are smart and will definitely make their marks in the world.
