Well I was nearing the completion of my system alls I needed was the deck but sorry to say someone broke into my garage and stole my amp. It was a Kicker kx600.1 I mentioned awhile back. I had just gotten that thing about a month ago and was waiting till I got a second car to put everything in and just my luck someone got into a storage cabinet in my garage and got the amp along with a $500.00 craftsman tool kit.So as of now I am back to just a set of woofers and was wondering if someone could reccomend any amps 150.00 at the most shipped.Cash is low now due to Chrismas and that is all I can dish out for now and I definately won't be able to afford another Kicker for awhile.I paid around 400.00 for it at a local car audio retailer.Anyways the pair of subs I have are 15" Powerbass svc 4 ohm, 300wrms 400wmax a piece.I've been looking around at brands like, Alpine MVR-350, Profile AP1000M (last resort), Kenwood 8152d (iffy). Don't know if the Alpine will do because it is 350 wrms (I need 600 rms) but I hear Alpine is underated.Profile I have not found 1 negative review on this particular amp out of around 30-40.Kenwood I hear negative comments alot.I will listen to any amp suggestions or ideas! Thanks! P0werLifter on 12/20/2005 13:26:05 That sucks to hear, Why not just wait till after christmas and get a good quality amp again, rather than "settling" for a lower one? I a whole system just chillin In my room waiting for me to gather the rest of my needed components to install it. Its hard, but waiting is sometimes better than forking out money that your just going to replace within a matter of months. Ash on 12/20/2005 15:02:05 Don't be so quick to judge the Profile. I have a Profile HA700M and the amp is actually pretty darn good for the money. It doesn't look all fancy nor have the high dollar specs, but it is strong, decently clean, and even has a variable subsonic filter as well as a variable phase adjustment. It is one of the better budget bass amps and most flexible that I have bought and I have quite a few that's high quality. MrBrownstone on 12/22/2005 00:28:26 whatever amplifer you choose, consider what is written in the manual regarding rated power, etc. Also, look at the references they use, i.e. 12v vs 14.4v ratings. swez on 12/23/2005 09:46:16 If you have receipts, file a police report on the losses and then contact your homeowner's insurance company for claiming the losses. There may be a "deductable" in the policy, but you may get enough back to cover all your losses and regroup. Chances are good that it is someone in your neighborhood that knew what you had and where you stored them. Sadly, this happens too often when we have "light fingered" friends/neighbors, that don't care who they steal from. You may want to take a closer look at who knew what you had and where you kept them. (Especially if they only took very specific things) I agree with PL... wait on your purchases until after Christmas is over. Many dealers will be blowing out older models and offering good deals to reduce inventory for tax purposes. Don't settle for 2nd best here. You'll be a happy camper when the insurance check comes in and gear prices drop in January. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
