I am trying to install a new stereo in my 2003 Toyota Tundra. I need some help with the wiring. The 13 wires that I need to connect to my new stereo are: blue, black, brown, pink/blue, purple, blue/black, yellow, green, red, white, black/red, light green, and grey/black. Can anyone help me with what each of these wires are? (i.e. battery, speakers, acc.) Thanks Replies (7) ttocs on 12/19/2005 10:39:06 it would be alot easier to use a aftermarket hrns to wire into the stock wiring. Is the stock hrns cut off? Scrappy0125 on 12/19/2005 15:06:35 yes it is... compvr15s on 12/19/2005 16:31:48 have you tried a google search for the wiring schematics? for that vehicle, if not give that a try... if that dont work you can pull each speaker out and identify the wire colors, that will eliminate 8 of the colors... here is a site that you can pay for the stereo wiring schematics http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com/index.htm under $15 but im sure we can help you here so dont go with this procedure unless we cant get you the info you need, we have a few installers here that may be familiar with that vehicle.. ill keep looking tho, see what i can find UKinstaller on 12/20/2005 01:55:17 yellow wire - blue/yellow wire red wire - gray wire black wire - brown wire white wire - pink wire/black wire - purple grey wire - lt. green grey/black - blue green wire - black green/black - yellow purple wire - red purple/black - whire and that will be everything you need. tape off any unused wires wires. -UK Scrappy0125 on 12/20/2005 03:45:21 I tried the connections that you recommended and there is a lot of fuzziness. Also I can not hear out of the left speakers. Scrappy0125 on 12/20/2005 03:47:19 I tried the connections that you recommended and there is a lot of fuzziness. Also I can not hear out of the left speakers. Scrappy0125 on 12/20/2005 04:15:26 I solved the not being able to hear out of the left speakers (one of the wires wasn't properly connected--stupid me), but I still have the fuzziness and when I turn off the stereo there is a popping sound. Can anyone help me figure this out??? Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
