alright... at several other forums i got lauphed at... as u can tell im pretty new at this, but i have this crazy idea and i want some Positive feedback... thanx-
what i got-
x2 P2 Punch Fosgate 10inch subs
x1 Infinity 10inch sub (older, don't know specific specs.)
900watt mono Fosgate D amp

my crazy idea, to get all i can out of what i have, is 2 build a three chamber box, with the two fosgates facing out the back of my car in ported boxs (with the ports facing forward) for mondo, low bass
and having my Ininity facing into my back seat, in a small sealed box for higher punchy bass
It should be facing a 2Ohm load, and take full advantage of every watt that amp can put out... is this good? if not... what should i do?
thanx-
-Drew

welcome to the forum, we don't laugh at one another here(with the exception of swez). Normally we don't recommend mixing sub brands. if your speakers are not properly matched they can cause cancelation issues, and you will loose sound. What are the models and impedence numbers of the subs?

Well

WIth woofers facing different directions, you face a lot of cancellation issues. A lot of subwoofer 'demo' vehicles have many woofers facing many different directions as works of art, not good sound.

In your case, what you're looking to do is equalize the tradeoffs between sealed and vented enclosures. What may be best is to have all 3 woofers facing the same direction, or simply having all woofers facing the rear of the vehicle.

Of course, mix N matching different woofers means that you'll have different efficiencies between brands, etc.

I C.... the only reason i want to use the Inifinity is because I HAVE it, i don't want to let a perfectly good sub just sit!!! and i think that would be a good way to use it...
i'm not sure what your looking for as far as "models and impedence numbers" but i've had the Infinity for some time, i got it as a "hand me down" from an old friend who used to compete... how would i go and find the model and impedence #? -Drew

Hey, you want to hear some good advice? I'm maybe a little bit more expiernced than you, buit im 16, and i love to mess around with my car audio stuff..I have 2 JL' audio 10'' 8 ohm subs and 2 mtx 8'' subs..i put the 2 JL'd ons, and it sounded great.but i wanted more, i added 1 MTX 8 '' with my 1800 watt amplifer, and it worked for 1 day...comes the next day, i friggin fried the thing..my advice is:
1) dont mix subs to begin with
2)make sure the amp is a good match with the subs
3)build a correct box
4)listen to these mods

i see what u said! i have 2 MTX 8'' subs i dont use, and i didnt want $130 to sit there! so i put it in. IT WAS A BIG NO NO. see what you can do.maybe get a bass knob (they add so much more bass)

look on the back of the subs magnent(the bottom of the woofer that you dont see when the sub is in an enclosure,,, it should give a model(product number) and it should save 2ohm, 4ohm, 8omh, dual 2omh, dual 4omh, something along that line.

check this link does your sub look like that, this one is a single 4omh voice coil, it will either say 4 or 8omh(looks like only single voice coils on the P1 and P2 models)

for the infinity, look for the same somewhere listed on the back of the sub, if you can not find it there check out this link for ebay search with infinity subs and see if you find one that looks like it.

make sure to copy the whole link is very long. as the others said its hard to mix and match speakers that dont match each other, let us know what cha find, we can surely get ya headed in the right direction, good luck
