Okay, first the alternator. Is installing the alternator worth learning (if you don't know anything at all) or better off just paying for the install? Also, i heard that you really only need to upgrade 3 PARTS of the alternator. If someone could enlighten me on this, because i'm trying to do this right the first time.
I would like some recommendations on a bass blocker for a pair of alpine sps-100a and an amp just to run a pair of alpine sps-171a . thank you

A 600hz hi-pass is ideal for your applicaction:

As for the amp, an Audiobahn A2002T would complement them well and is a far better value than most amps in it's price range:

As far as the alternator, you could have a local shop beef up a stock alt or just buy a HO one. Exactly what is your needs?
