was wondering how difficult you guys think it would be to run a stereo on a golf cart. my brother works for a company that sells/rents, repairs pretty much does everything with golf carts... they have done $1500 dollar paint jobs, lift kits, custom rims, made one with a grill and frig/freezer on it... was just wonering how hard it would be to incorperate a decent stereo system on one of these... they have electric and gas type carts... i think the gas engines are 12v but im not sure about the electric carts, i know they have a lot of batteries on 'em tho... i know they have installed a cd-player and speakers, but not an amp or subs... thought this would be a fun idea for them and us to discuss.feel free to go wild. GRIN http://www.mskgolfcars.com/salesgallery/index.htm here is a link to a pic gallery of a few of thier carts. i dont see any of the ones i mentioned, but i see one with a dump box, and one with a hotdog stand or something on it... just thought it would be fun to do a totally custom golf cart(rims, stereo, fiberglass work) Replies (3) Ash on 12/13/2005 20:16:16 I was at a homecoming parade last year in Georgia and happend to see one. It seemed to have all the works: paint job, rims and tires, nice stereo w/amps. I can't say how it exactly sounded of course for all the noise in the crowd, but it was there to see. I was kinda impressed myself; for I didn't think anyone would bother trying since you couldn't obviously get it to sound as good as an enclosed environment setup. Still, I gave them credit for trying. ttocs on 12/15/2005 10:47:39 I have seen them with stereos. The biggest problem is the current draw a descent system requires. There is a neighbor to a friend of mine that lifts them and puts off road tires on them, they look fun and funny.... compvr15s on 12/15/2005 18:05:19 yea the company he works for have done the same, 6inch lift kit with some big knobby tires, they look different lol, the owner had one with that paint that changes colors in as you look at it with the reflection of the sunlight. oh another question, have any of you ever heard of a cushman(brand) truckster? they are kind of like an older 1person mini trunk, 3wheels. my brother and i were given one when our great uncle past away, im not 100% sure but i think these have a car alternator, my brother wants to redu this as a lil show vehicle, nothing special but i was thinking of adding a HU a pair of speakers in the front and maybe a sub, not sure where it would go other than in the truck box. could maybe do a lil 8or 10 inch woofer in a nice fiberglass pod, just for looks.... well thanx for the replies so far on cart questions. take care fellas Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
